My name is Stephanie Farrer, LMT, and I am a licensed massage therapist practicing in Sebring, Florida. I specialize in both Deep Tissue and Medical Massage Therapy, particularly serving patients who are looking to relieve muscular tension and discomfort.

Focus

My practice is based around the science behind using Therapeutic Massage to treat many types of chronic pain. This matters to me, as I formerly struggled with debilitating nerve damage for several years. During a failed chiropractic adjustment in my twenties, I suffered a lumbar spinal injury that required surgery and left me bedridden. In other words, I understand just how much chronic pain can alter one’s way of living.

After research, I started weekly treatments with a medical massage therapist. And I was shocked when the Neuromuscular, or Trigger Point Therapy, actually worked. It left me suddenly able to walk without assistance—and virtually pain free! Since then, I have made it my goal to offer others this same relief and freedom. To do this, I have spent the past 15 years learning, blending, and utilizing the massage techniques and tools that actually work.

“Stephanie has such a wonderful knowledge of the underlying causes of pain and a real desire to get a person past it. Combine that knowledge and desire with tremendous skill and that sums up what Stephanie is about. She’s serious about what she does but does it with a smile. She is a gift from God to those who suffer. I recommend her wholeheartedly and without reservation.”—Jeffrey G, Facebook Recommendation

What Works

Much like peeling back the layers of an onion, I find that softening the outer layers of fascia and tissue before performing the massage is vital. To begin a session, I use a combination of several techniques:

Frankly, I feel that these methods are crucial to ensure that Medical Massage is maximally effective while minimally painful. For this reason, I have included detailed information on each in the Tools section of the Services page and I encourage all of my patients to become familiar with them. Next, I use both Deep Tissue and Neuromuscular Therapy to release the tension from muscular tissue. Specifically, I am known to use both forearm and full-on digging elbows within my sessions. And yet, most ‘knots’ or ‘triggers’ can be undone without the hurt. This means that bruising and soreness afterward are usually mild—if they even turn up at all.

“I’ve had lots of different massages in my lifetime and Stephanie is the best. She quickly pinpoints problem areas and works on them. My back goes out on occasion and she helps get me up and going without pain. She is terrific and I highly recommend her services.”—Donna K, Google 5 Star Review
